In this space, we post information about upcoming reviews, discussions, festivals, and other programming, so that you can have an idea of when to expect our comments on what you’re interested in. Please keep in mind that this is just a general outline of information. Reviews will be up in as timely a fashion as possible. We do this in our free time, though we try to be professional about it.
For the months of April and May 2012:
Matt reviews Friends With Kids, The Raid: Redemption, and The Cabin in the Woods.
Eric reviews The Hunger Games and The Artist, and posts capsule reviews of a long backlist of films he’s seen since December.
Matt writes about Zooey Deschanel and the breakaway Fox hit New Girl; shares some thoughts on animation/live-action aesthetics in The Adventures of Tintin and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol; and posts a rumination on East European cinema behind the Iron Curtain in the 1980s.
In honor of the sesquicentennial of Our Recent Unpleasantness (as some folks I know still like to call it), Eric FINALLY posts his long-awaited retrospective on the great Civil War movies of all time, including Glory, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Cold Mountain, Gettysburg, and Gone with the Wind.
